Woman And Panther Have The Same Reaction Upon Meeting
A Florida panther taking a peaceful stroll got the scare of a lifetime after bumping into a woman who was also out for a walk - and her reaction was pretty much exactly the same.
The near collision between human Tina Dorschel and the unnamed wild cat took place along a wooden path at the Corkscrew Swamp Sanctuary, a wildlife preserve in the heart of the Everglades. Video from the encounter shows the panther approaching as Dorschel gasps in terror. But it soon became clear that, hey, the feeling was mutual.
Florida panthers might have a reputation as scary creatures we'd be wise to avoid, but their opinion of us apparently isn't so far off - and for good reason. As an endangered species, with as few as 100 remaining, their main threats come from humans encroaching on their habitats and collisions with vehicles.
We're glad to see this panther isn't taking any chances.
