Watch These Squeaky Puppies Practicing Their Howl (Video)

While our sweet-tempered canine companions usually bear little resemblance to their untamed predecessors, wolves -- when they hear the call of the wild, oftentimes they'll answer back.

For wolves in the wilderness, howling is typically used to convey important business to members of the pack, like in signalling that a hunt is about to begin. Among domesticated dogs however, like these squeaky little puppies, this howling behavior is mostly used as a way of checking-in their location to the humans they consider their loyal pack mates.

Interspecies solidarity can sure be cute.
