These baby sloths, filmed by National Geographic explorer Lucy Cooke at the AIUNAU and Aviarios sloth sanctuaries in Colombia and Costa Rica, are orphaned, because they fall from trees and are abandon. The mother sloth can't climb down to get them because the chance of running into predators like jaguars and harpy eagles on the ground is too high to risk.
