Dog Who Lost His Leg To Cancer Got Through It With The Help Of His Best Friend
She's always by his side.
Chase Westbrook is a golden retriever who lives with his family in Washington. He had a pretty normal life - until his family found out he had cancer.
Chase was diagnosed with synovial cell sarcoma, and in February 2015 he had to have one of his front legs amputated because of it.
Adjusting to his new life as a three-legged dog wasn't always easy, but Chase seemed to pick it up pretty quickly ...
... and what made it even easier was his little sister, Ava Rae.
Chase and Ava Rae are the best of friends, and Ava Rae always made sure she was by Chase's side to help with anything he might need.
Today, Chase has completely adjusted to his life as a three-legged dog, and he couldn't have done it without his best friend by his side the entire time.
Chase and Ava Rae still play together exactly like they used to, and neither of them really seems to notice that Chase is any different. They're closer than ever.
Recently, Chase gave his family a bit of a scare when they thought his cancer might be back. Chase wasn't feeling all that great ...
... but his little sister helped to always keep a smile on his face through it all.
After some tests, the vet declared that thankfully, Chase is still cancer free! He's back to feeling like his old self again, and he and Ava Rae couldn't be happier about it.
Chase has been through a lot, but with his best friend by his side, there's nothing he can't handle.
