Thousands of sea lions, dozens of whales, join for feeding frenzy (Video)

Marine biologists aboard a research vessel in Monterey Bay, California recently spotted this remarkable scene -- over 2,000 sea lions and about 30 humpback whales joined together in a massive feeding frenzy. Large schools of fish passing through the area frequently attract large groups of hungry predators, but Tiffany Thomas of Marine Life Studies says she had never seen a feast be as well-attended as this:

"[Tuesday] was the most sea lions grouped together that we had observed. It appeared as if you could walk across them they were so tightly bunched. It was an amazing sight to behold."
