Diggle, a tiny, chocolate brown Chihuahua, is only a year-and-a-half old, but he's already experienced a lifetime's worth of fear and heartbreak.

The little pup is up for adoption at Carson Animal Care Center, a county shelter in California. On Friday, a volunteer uploaded a heartbreaking video to Facebook showing Diggle, overwhelmed by the stress and loneliness of living in a shelter, cowering under his blanket - the only source of comfort he has in his little cage.

Diggle may have never known what it's like to be a loved pet and have a safe, warm bed to sleep in at night. This little dude deserves a family. Hopefully soon the right one will come along - maybe someone will see his video and fall in love?

If that happens, Diggle wouldn't be the first shelter dog whose life was saved by social media. If you're ready to adopt a dog like Diggle, visit your local shelter or check out Adopt-a-Pet.com.
