It's the most wonderful time of the year. The Super Bowl is on Sunday β€” which means that a multitude of adorable (and adoptable!) puppies and kittens are also going to be playing the field during Animal Planet's Puppy Bowl XI and Hallmark Channel's Kitten Bowl II.

It's the one day a year when we basically get the best of both worlds!

The Dodo was lucky enough to get a sneak peek at the kittens who will be performing during the Puppy Bowl XI halftime β€” and let's just say, these kitties are TOTALLY ready to bring their A-game. Here's a behind-the-scenes look at the up-and-coming feline stars:

For now, the stadium is quiet and devoid of cuteness. But that will definitely not be the case for long.

But, the kittens are professionals and know that they need to carb up before their big performance debut.

Staying hydrated is also important.

Some of the kittens are getting a little impatient, waiting for their moment to shine.

After all, they have so much energy to burn!

The little felines aren't sure what to make of all these cameras β€” was this in their contract?

But they're naturals, of course, and pose effortlessly.

The kittens are starting to relax and acclimate to their surroundings. Some of them even settle in for a cat nap ...

... What's that, you say?? It's almost SHOW TIME? Better go get ready!

Tune in to Animal Planet on Sunday, Feb. 1 at 3 pm to watch Puppy Bowl XI and the kitten's halftime show.

And the puppies aren't the only ones who get to have their own event. The players of Kitten Bowl II have also been busy training for their big game on Sunday. The kittens have really been working on their hustle.

Luckily, in Kitten Bowl, climbing on the goal posts doesn't disqualify you. And if you feel like taking a break and napping in the middle of the game, well, that's totally acceptable too.

Kitten Bowl II will be airing on the Hallmark Channel at noon, if you want to catch the feline players in action!

And if you just CAN'T WAIT until Sunday to get your fill of playful kitty antics, Animal Planet's got you covered: they're livestreaming a kitten cam in honor of the festivities on Sunday. If you click on the link though, be warned: you will definitely not be productive for the rest of the day.
