Stray Dog Always Brings A Gift To The Woman Who Feeds Him

"Every day he shows up with an object in his mouth."

As someone dedicated to feeding the stray dogs near her home in Thailand, Orawan Kaewla-iat knows the act of helping needy animals comes as its own reward.

But apparently, one grateful pup benefiting from her kindness believes she's owed a little something extra.

Orawan recently shared a touching account about a dog she's been caring for, named Tua Plu, who drops by her place each day with his mother looking for food. Rather than stroll in to hastily gobble up the bowls of rice offered to him, as most dogs might, Tua Plu always comes bearing a gift in exchange.

"When he's hungry, he will offer something to get fed," Orawan wrote on Facebook, as translated by Coconuts Bangkok. "Every day he shows up with an object in his mouth — usually a leaf and sometimes a piece of paper. Before you feed other dogs, you have to feed Tua Plu and his mom."

Here's video of the polite pup in action.

It's unclear where Tua Plu learned about this thoughtful gesture, but it wouldn't be the first time we've seen dogs bring presents to people who they care about. And the endearing little tradition certainly has earned Tua Plu a lot of new admirers.

The video above has since gone viral in Thailand and abroad, leading some folks to inquire about adopting the very good dog. (He is wearing a collar, but Orawan says that's to keep him safe from the persecution stray dogs there often face.)

So, with any luck, Tua Plu and his mom will soon find a forever home of their own. We know he'd appreciate it.
