Career stuntman Steve-O is about to go to jail for his latest prank - but he couldn't be happier.

The former "Jackass" star was sentenced on Wednesday to 30 days in Los Angeles County jail for a stunt he pulled to raise awareness about the plight of SeaWorld's captive orcas earlier this year. Back in August, he climbed a crane in Hollywood, shot off fireworks and showed off an orca-shaped balloon that read "SeaWorld Sucks."

First responders rushed to the scene, and Steve-O was arrested on charges for creating a false emergency and trespassing.

His sentence includes three years' probation and a ban on entering the Hollywood Entertainment District, according to the Los Angeles Times, He's also banned from owning fireworks.

But Steve-O couldn't be happier. In a statement, he said he was ready to go to jail to prove he hadn't lost his edge after going sober and becoming interested in animal welfare - and to raise awareness for the orcas.

"My whole crane-climbing, fireworks debacle really turned out to be pretty meaningful in the end," he said. "I mean, if your goal is to make a statement about captivity, you may as well get yourself locked up!"

This isn't the first time the stuntman has gotten in trouble for protesting SeaWorld: He was cited last year for vandalizing a SeaWorld exit sign to read "SeaWorld sucks."

"I have a pretty passionate stance against animal cruelty, as everyone knows," he told The Dodo at the time. "It's magical if I can take a wild and crazy stunt and do some good."

And 30 days in jail sure beats a lifetime in a tank.
