Squirrels are certainly better than most when it comes to things like finding nuts, scurrying up trees and leaping from branch to branch - but as one GoPro owner discovered recently, those fluffy-tailed phenoms are rather fickle when it comes to making movies.
Amature wildlife talent scout David Freiheit set out to find a few creatures who'd capture the world from a new perspective, setting his sights on squirrels living near his home in Montreal, Canada.
"I wanted to get up close and personal with these animals, so you could feel like you're a squirrel, at least for a few seconds," Freiheit told The Dodo. "There's a local park here, so I went and bought some bread and put some bread on the GoPro, and the squirrels came quickly."
Freiheit's first experience collaborating with a squirrel on a film project went quite well, all things considered. A furry little star seized upon the pricey little camera almost immediately, taking it into a tree before politely dropping it directly into its owner's hands.
