Snuggly Bull Can't Get Close Enough To His Rescuers
Duke Bullock isn't like other bulls.
Suffering from dwarfism, he was supposed to be slaughtered, but his disability disqualified him from becoming meat and saved his life.
But Duke needed special care to survive - so Calf Sanctuary, an animal rescue organization in the U.K., offered Duke a home.
"We have spent months rehabilitating him, with a special shelter, hoisting system and a wheel cart made," Sharon Lawlor, of the Calf Sanctuary, told The Dodo.
And Duke has felt the love, becoming extra snuggly and sweet.
But times have gotten tough for Calf Sanctuary. "At Christmas we got a letter to say our tenancy will not be renewed," Lawlor said. "This us a very short time to relocate, making it almost impossible."
Add to that Duke's disability, and the situation becomes overwhelming. "His disability means he really does need full time care and cannot just be left in a field," Lawlor said. "We have modified our lives to work around Duke's disabilities as he is like a small child to us, a family member."
"All we need is a lucky break," Lawlor said. "Help from others who truly care."
