Hi Animal Supporters!
I wanted to share with you details of a program I run called Snuggle Coats, a non- profit animal welfare charity located in NSW Australia.
My programs purpose is to recycle real fur in all forms of clothing (coats, stoles, capes and hats) - which is donated by the general public - disassembled and then passed onto Animal Welfare Groups to rehabilitate and enrich the lives of animals in their care. These furs can act as a surrogate for injured wildlife during the rehabilitation process.
Snuggle Coats is all about giving back to the animals and educating people on thinking smarter about their impact on the world.
We all know that there is nothing sexy or beautiful about wearing a second-hand fur – so now it's time to give them back to the animals. I believe that wearing real fur is unacceptable. I can't conceive of any situation where it would be right to kill an animal purely so that you can look fashionable wearing its skin. By buying vintage fur, you are perpetuating the trend that wearing fur is acceptable and supporting the current fur industry. Just because the animal died years ago does not mean that it did not suffer a painful death.
