Fox's Swim In Sewage Ends In A Bath And A Fuzzy Towel
In general, animals take a lot of shit from humans. But perhaps nobody knows this more than one particular fox who found herself literally up to her neck in it earlier this week.
On Tuesday morning in Atherstone, England, a sewage plant worker discovered a female fox trying to keep her head above the surface of an outdoor "slurry pit," or, as we call it in America, "shit pool."
Luckily, it wasn't long before the Warwickshire Fire and Rescue Service team arrived alongside the Royal Society of the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (RSPCA) to pull the fox from the sewage.
"Who knows how this fox managed to get herself into this fix, perhaps she slipped and had an accidental tumble," said Nicola Johnson of the RSPCA. "But she was completely stuck when I found her - and there was no way she would have been able to make her way out without help."
Although she had a less-than-pleasant interaction with the human world, the fox was treated very well by the team at the RSPCA. They ensured she was clean and healthy before releasing her back into the wild.
