Serene Sea Turtles Cruise Past Scuba Diver And Mug For The Camera
Two photogenic sea turtles were caught on camera by scuba diver and wildlife enthusiast John Hawkins, in this video captured off the coast of Mozambique:

Though these turtles might look cheerful, the five species of marine turtles in Mozambique are under pressure from poachers. Photographing sea turtles offers a way to help them, according to the wildlife conservation group Marine Megafauna Foundation. The turtles are "uniquely identifiable by their facial scales," the group says, which asks photographers to share their sea turtle images to aid researchers keeping track of the rare reptiles.
