Salma Hayek Seeks Justice After Her Dog Is Shot And Killed

After a shocking tragedy, actress Salma Hayek say she just wants what's right.

On Friday, Hayek announced in an emotional Instagram post that her 9-year-old dog was found fatally shot last week on her farm in Washington state.

"I haven't posted for a week as I [have] been mourning the death of my dog, Mozart, who I personally delivered out of his mother's womb," wrote Hayek. "He was found dead in my ranch last Friday with a shot close to his heart."

While paying tribute to Mozart, the post also served as an impassioned plea from the actress for authorities to find justice for the slain pet.

"He loved his territory and never strayed away... [He] was the most loving and loyal companion," wrote Hayek. "He didn't deserve a slow and painful death."

Last November, Hayek told Jimmy Fallon that she often takes in stray animals off the street and had recently adopted her ninth dog.

Authorities in Washington have yet to comment publicly on the incident and, as of Saturday afternoon, had not responded to requests for comment from The Dodo.
