Paddle Boarder Is Visited By Whale And Pod Of Dolphins
Paddle boarder Rich German experienced an incredible sight one morning while paddle boarding off of Laguna Beach, California. A humpback whale casually appeared incredibly close to German's board.
But the amazing sights didn't stop there. An entire pod of common dolphins also swam by, totally unperturbed by German's presence.
In the midst of such amazing nature, it was likely tempting for German to approach the wild cetaceans, but he handled the situation correctly by allowing the animals to remain undisturbed by his presence. Dr. Lori Marino, executive director of The Kimmela Center for Animal Advocacy, tells The Dodo that in these situations it is best to "let the (cetaceans) decide what the interaction should be."
The humpback whale gives a last little "wave" before going along his way.
