Neil Patrick Harris And His Family Adopt The Sweetest Rescue Dog

Her name is Gidget.

It's every rescue dog's dream to one day have an amazing family who will love him forever, and one lucky dog just hit the jackpot.

Neil Patrick Harris and his husband, fellow actor David Burtka, recently decided they wanted to add a furry new member to their little family, and so they adopted Gidget.

Gidget was rescued off the streets of Thailand by Project Street Dog Thailand and taken in by New York's North Shore Animal League America.

"We started working with Project Street Dog Thailand back in May," Cindy Szczudlo, senior manager of rescue services at North Shore Animal League America, told The Dodo. "Beautiful little Gidget was one of our recent rescues who we brought in a couple weeks ago."

Despite everything she's been through, Gidget is the happiest little dog, and absolutely loves everyone she meets.

"She's so affectionate, sweet and friendly," Szczudlo said. "She loved playing with the cats in my office. She just has an amazing personality."

Harris and Burtka are close friends with Beth Stern, who works with North Shore Animal League America. When they told her they were looking to adopt a dog, she knew that Gidget would be the absolute perfect fit for them.

Gidget is already loving her new home, and it seems she couldn't be happier with the way things turned out.

Enjoy your wonderful new family, Gidget. We're hoping for tons more Instagram photos.
