Fortunately, the moose's unusual appearance, known as "sleigh hoof," is caused by a copper deficiency and shouldn't do her much harm in daily life - though it could make running from predators a bit more difficult.
"More often than not, the extended hoof will break off on it's own and it won't bother the moose," David Battle, a state wildlife biologist, told KTUU.
It isn't the first time a moose like this has been spotted. Back in 2010, a woman in Nikiski, Alaska, spotted an elf-shoed moose trotting across the street. "It walked like a person wearing slippers," she said.
