The Melbourne Zoo is teaching its orangutans a whole new skill set by introducing them to the world of video games. It's the first program of its kind, CBS News reports.
Orangutans are highly intelligent creatures who enjoy many adventures in the wild - like searching for food. But a captive environment lacks that sort of stimulation, so it's important that zoos find other means of keeping their animals mentally challenged for their general welfare, Sally Sherwen, animal welfare specialist and researcher with Zoos Victoria said in a press release.
