Upside-Down Sheep Saved By Human Hero
A man recently saved a sheep from a very unpleasant death.
Darren Green was walking in England's Lake District when he spotted a sheep who had become trapped on her back. Burdened by her heavy wool - and plump figure - the poor sheep was completely unable to flip herself over. She had all but given up.
"Thought it was dead at first laying around with legs in air," Green wrote on YouTube. "I had to see if it was ok."
Surprisingly, tipped-over sheep aren't an entirely uncommon phenomenon. They're known as cast sheep, and it happens most frequently to pregnant ewes, stocky sheep and those with heavy coats. They have trouble breathing when they're on their back, and without a helping hand to help them roll back over they can die within a short period of time.
Fortunately when Green walked up to the distressed ewe she began kicking again, determined to live. With a gentle push, Green helped her back onto her feet, and she scampered away with a waiting friend.
