An atrocious case of animal abuse revealed in Dorchester, Massachusetts. On Tuesday, a 911 call was made when a 17-year-old was found dismembering at least two cats behind an abandoned house. On Wednesday, two counts of cruelty to animal charges were filed, but due to the age of the offender, police are not releasing his name. He has also been charged with trespassing and possession of a dangerous weapon.
Neighbors who called 911 witnessed the young man swaying to music, his arm rising and falling as he chopped a cat to pieces to the beat of the music. He was wearing a single black glove. When officers responded to the scene, they found dismembered animal parts, a machete, a hand saw, a folding knife, the glove, a bottle of Clorox bleach and a black trash bag marked with the offender's first name.
The family that called 911 said their cat, Mischief, went missing last month. Neighbors had been keeping an eye on the area because other cats had been found in similar condition in recent weeks. The people who called 911 said that between each swipe of his machete, he cleaned the blade. At first, he allegedly told officers the animal was an opossum, then he claimed it was a cat that he killed because it was sick. Finally he admitted he mutilated the cats out of boredom. The home where the remains were found is overgrown with weeds and covered with "No Trespassing" signs.
