Corgis Of Instagram Come Together To Say Goodbye To Loki

"He was such a big part of my life and all of our lives in the corgi community."

Loki the corgi was one of the most famous dogs on Instagram. His pictures and videos were constantly going viral across different social media platforms, and he has well over a million followers between Facebook and Instagram.

Everyone on the internet seemed to know who Loki was - and today, the whole world is saying goodbye together after Loki suddenly and tragically passed away.

Over the past few days, Loki was having trouble with his kidneys. He was diagnosed with chronic kidney disease over a year ago, and when it started acting up, his parents immediately took him to the vet. They set up a GoFundMe to help raise money for Loki's treatment, which has since raised over $34,000. He was put on dialysis and the doctors tried everything they could, but unfortunately, 5-year-old Loki didn't make it.

His parents posted on update on Instagram late last night to let his fans knows the devastating news. "Loki's in a better place now. Away from sickness and away from pain. We'll miss him forever."

Loki was one of the most popular corgis on Instagram and the reason many other corgis got their own Instagram accounts, and today countless corgis and their parents from all over the world have been posting tributes to say goodbye to their beloved friend.

From Philadelphia ...

... to Los Angeles.

From Oregon ...

... to London.

There is no shortage of people missing Loki today.

Some people credit Loki for the internet's love of all things corgi. One corgi parent wrote, "He was such a big part of my life and all of our lives in the corgi community. He was likely the first corgi you ever fell in love with and the reason you continued to love our stumps."

Another family who lost their corgi, Dash, much too young wrote that they hoped Loki will say hello to Dash for them over the rainbow bridge.

Loki was a wonderful dog and loved by all, and he will be insanely missed. RIP Loki.
