The problems of one little duckling in the world might not amount to much, but thankfully there are folks who believe every creature in need deserves a helping hand - and that that's a legacy worth passing on.

A member of the Nassau County Police Department (NCPD), in New York, set a wonderful example for a group of children this week by taking the time to respond to a call about a baby duck in distress. The little bird had reportedly gotten stuck in a hole beneath a small waterfall at a park, and was unable to get out and rejoin her mother, so Officer Jason Kogan stepped in to offer assistance.

"There is no rescue too small for the NCPD," the department wrote on Facebook. "Thank you Allison for sending us this video and great job Officer Kogan!"
