Over the weekend a Circus elephant falls from a pyramid of 3 levels of tiny stools 6 feet up, in front of an audience. The elephant hesitated to climb up, but his trainers were standing by with Bullhooks within his line of vision always aware of the beating that may take place if he doesn't complete this dangerous unnatural trick.
He not only climbs to the top of 3 levels of stools, he's forced to do a handstand at the top.... He doesn't lift as high as his trainers want, and as you watch the video, you can see the trainer, raise his Bullhook 4 times until the elephant gets into the position they wanted. I should also mention in Eastern Europe In Bularus, not only do they use Bullhooks, but they have a whip attached to the end which this trainer proudly cracks to intimidate... Finally he does his handstand because Elephants want to be gymnasts... The stool his back foot is supposed to land on, shifts out of position, and this poor elephant falls 6 feet and lands on his ankle and laid in pain on the ground under the big ugly top not moving... People in the audience scream, and guess who rushes to help the elephant... The other Elephants do. The trainers try to downplay their reaction, but the other Elephants knew he was hurt.
