Fourth Step: Let your dog wear the collar for 7 days.
At first, you should make your dog feel comfortable even while wearing the training collar device so that he will not think of it as something bad. It can take at least seven days before you can make him feel accustomed to wearing the collar. Additionally, once you start using the device, your dog will not think that the device is giving him the static shock. Your dog will rather think that he feels the static shock every time he misbehaves.
Fifth Step: Make the collar do its work now.
After seven days, you can turn on the dog training device. Try to observe whether or not the weakest intensity level is felt by your dog. Notice how your dog may react to the static shock. Ear twitching is a very common reaction. He might get scared of it or want to remove the collar at first. If you do not see any reaction to the static shock, increase the intensity level little by little until you notice a reaction.
Sixth Step: Apply some commands.
You can now make use of the commands that your dog knows. Try to see if your dog obeys your commands or not. If he does not obey, that is the time for you to give him the static shock. Always select the intensity level that suits your dog best. When your dog starts to obey your commands, be generous with your compliments and give him his favorite snack.
