Position: Head of Social
Location: New York City Seeking: We're looking for a seasoned social superstar who can lead and continue to build out our social team. This is a key role at The Dodo – where we're using a social-first approach to content that aims to make caring about animals a mainstream, viral cause. Our social team is our hub, our distribution strategy, and our growth center. As our ideal candidate, you have at least 4-5 years of experience working in social media, and experience managing and growing a team. You're obsessed with growing a brand's presence across the social platforms, from Facebook, to Instagram, to Snapchat -- and beyond. You have a strong background in analytics, and are all about using data to improve performance and expand reach. You're a leader, a self-starter, a strong and supportive manager – and you know how to communicate high-level optimizations in a way that people without a social media or data background can understand. You love working very closely with editorial teams to help make their stories go viral. You're looking for ownership of a key area of a growing company – and you can't stop reading about Snapchat's new features. No, seriously. You can't stop.
Here's what you'd be working on:
- Building out and managing our social team
- Owning our social growth strategy; setting and tracking against key KPIs across social channels
- Maintaining relationships with the social platforms, as well as other publishers
- Designing our optimizations process – from data collection and analysis to testing and communicating best practices to the team
- Attending board meetings and external meetings as our social strategy and reporting lead
