Young women in Japan have been swooning over a gorgeous gorilla named Shabani. His mug shot has been showing up all over Twitter and the hunky guy has at least 100 people surrounding his pen at any given moment.
What's most arresting about Shabani's photos is the sheer intelligence in his eyes and face. Gorillas and humans use similar facial expressions to convey emotions, which might be why Shabani manages to look like a model in so many shots.
Shabani's strong jawline highlights his masculine features.
Those pouty expressions? They're thanks to deeply set eyes and a protruding forehead, but probably also from being locked in captivity instead of free to roam that muscular physique at home in the wild.
As much as Shabani loves the attention, he'd probably love it more if he had more space to roam. Gorillas don't like to stay in one place for very long.
