Bear Grylls has withdrawn references to the use of snares from his survival guide after a warning from animal welfare charity, League Against Cruel Sports.
The League Against Cruel sports received complaints from worried parents which convinced the charity to take it further.
The use of snares can result in terrible injuries and often death for wildlife and domestic animals; cases are often reported of pets being caught up in the traps.
There are many different legal regulations that people have to take into account when using snares and Bear Grylls' guide does not mention them; this could result in people unknowingly breaking the law.
The company Gerber, which sells Bear Grylls' products, has now agreed to remove any reference to snares from the guide.
The majority of Europe have banned the use of snares and now the League Against Cruel Sports are pushing for a ban in the UK too.
