Rescue Group Writes Sweet Note To Man Who Gave Away This Pit Bull
When a man came in to Silicon Valley Animal Control Authority to surrender a lovable, sociable pit bull as a stray, the staff didn't really believe him. The dog seemed to be his own - and the more they learned about the dog, the more they could see how hard the man had worked to socialize his pet.
The shelter staff contacted Bad Rap, a group that helps train and rehabilitate pit bulls, because they thought the dog might need a little extra attention before heading on to his forever home. When staff from Bad Rap met the pup, they fell in love with him - and couldn't help but be thankful to his previous owner for doing such a good job raising him.
The group wrote a letter on Facebook addressed "Dear Former Owner of this dog," thanking whoever had to give him up for taking such good care of him while he had him.
"No one knows what went wrong to prevent you from keeping him (housing? hard times? illness?) but we're guessing it must have killed you to walk back to your car without him," the group wrote.
Even though this pup ended up at a shelter, his former family clearly gave him all the love and care in the world, and prepared him for his next loving forever family as best they could.

Bad Rap really just wanted to let the lovable pit bull's former family know that he's OK, and that they're doing everything they can to make sure he gets the best life possible.
"All is well," the group wrote. "Your boy is safe. Blessings to you, wherever you are."
