Endangered Snow Leopard Cubs Give Species New Hope

There are up to 6,000 snow leopards in the wild across 12 countries, though their numbers are threatened by habitat degradation and hunting. The cubs, dubbed Argut and Batyr, are thought to be less than one year old and may indicate that the population in the Argut Valley region -- one of the last remaining untouched areas on earth -- can be restored.
