While it's definitely worth noting that it's never a good idea (and it's illegal) to approach a wild marine mammal, stories of curious wild dolphins approaching people aren't unheard of. During one memorable dive off the coast of Hawaii, a group of divers was confronted with a surprising sight: a bottlenose dolphin who was entangled in a fishing line.
