Little Dog Sees A Dolphin, Decides She'll Be One Too

There's no greater bond of loyalty and love than that of a dog toward her faithful owner - unless, of course, a dolphin drops by with a better offer.

Gracie, a rambunctious dachshund, was out for a kayak trip on the Banana River in Florida when things took an unexpected turn. The dog, who moments earlier seemed perfectly content riding around with her mom, Tina Calderin, had a sudden and unmistakable change of heartabout who she wanted to hang out with upon spotting one of those famed aquatic mammals.

Calderin caught the little betrayal on film:

One could imagine, based on Gracie's determined dog-paddling in defiance of her owner's desperate pleas, that she was soon whisked away by her new friend, never to be seen again - but, alas, that was not the case. Turns out, the dolphin wasn't looking for a tagalong after all.

As Calderin writes, perhaps with a tinge of resentment: "She swam back to the boat after."
