Genius Scratching Post Could End The War Between Cats And Dogs
Since the first saber-tooth cat hissed at the first dire wolf, the relationship between cats and dogs has been notoriously hostile, but an oddly pup-like scratching post could normalize canine-feline relations once and for all.
Half cat toy and half home decor, DOG by Dutch designer Erik Stehmann offers kitties a far safer outlet for their anti-dog aggression.
"[DOG] is a scratchpost for cats, with a good dose of humor," writes Stehmann on his website. "Not only does DOG protect your furniture from cat scratching, but it is also THE way for cats to release their frustrations on their 'natural enemy!'"
Of course, as many adorable internet videos prove, there are plenty of cats who get along just fine with dogs.
DOG does not appear to be designed with those cats in mind.
Unfortunately, DOG doesn't ship outside of Europe and costs €649 (about 700 U.S. dollars), but no one said peace comes without a price.
