Dog Gently Places Her 11 Puppies Into Her Foster Mom's Lap

One by one.

Grayce the dog has only been a mother for a couple of days. Perhaps she was feeling a bit overwhelmed when she began to pick up her puppies - all 11 of them; 10 boys and a girl - and place them gently, one by one, into her foster mom's lap.

"I think she feels unsure still as a new mom," Stevoni Wells Doyle tells The Dodo. "And she needed love and reassurance from someone she loves and trusts."

Grayce has been living with Doyle in her Utah home for about three weeks now.

She'd been neglected in her previous home, and "needed a safe environment to have her pups," Doyle says.

Grayce and her puppies are among hundreds of dogs Doyle has taken in for a spell. She fosters animals "because they need us. We are their voice and need to protect them."

But this is the first time a dog mom has handed over her pups in this manner.

"I was honored that she choose me to trust with her pups and herself," Doyle says. "I'm still overwhelmed with her love."

The pups and Grayce will be up for adoption - to Utah families only - in about eight weeks, through the rescue group Rescue Rovers.
