This 3-Minute Film Will Make You Want To Hug Your Dog
It doesn't take long for a dog to win over a person's heart.
The scene opens with a young boy's eyes glued to a television screen. His mother places a box in front of him, blocking his view of the loud video game he's playing.
He reluctantly opens the box to find an energetic surprise inside.
At first, the boy is entertained by the puppy, but then he notices that he's missing one of his front legs.
Angered that his mother would bring home a three-legged puppy, he rejects him and even kicks him aside.
That doesn't faze the dog, who spots a red ball hidden under a cabinet.
The dog brings the ball to the boy to play, but the boy dismissively kicks it aside.
This only excites the young puppy, who considers it a game of fetch.
The two share a moment of eye contact, and the boy sees something within the dog he hadn't before.
He decides to give the dog a chance.
There's a very good reason - but you'll have to watch the short film below to find out.
Jacob Frey and Markus Kranzler were only students when they worked on this film together in 2015, and they released it to the public earlier this week. After the film was featured in over 180 film festivals around the world and earned over 50 awards, the two animators received positions at Walt Disney Studios and Pixar, respectively.
But awards aside, this film will leave a soft spot in your heart. Dogs and humans can bring joy into each other's lives, and that joy brings out the best in each of us.
You can watch the full video below. It's well worth the few minutes it takes.
