Dixie was brought in at the beginning of the summer as an owner surrender. She was dropped off at the shelter with her three puppies, but they were all adopted ... leaving poor Dixie all by herself.
Dixie is a "sweet girl," DCAS's Sally Bumgardner told The Dodo. "Her nickname is Houdini."
"... She doesn't want to be here, all she wants is a family to call her own and a yard to run and play in," the shelter posted on its Facebook page. Dixie clearly needs to be out of a cage and in a stable loving home.
While she hasn't been adopted yet, there is some good news for Dixie. On Wednesday, she was pulled from the county shelter by a rescue organization, so she's no longer in danger of being euthanized. But she still needs a home.
"She's going to make someone a wonderful dog someday," Bumgardner said.
