Curious Orca Whales Swim Right Under Shocked Paddle Boarder
When Bruce Miller encountered a pair of fins sticking out of the water off Auckland, New Zealand, he, unlike most people, had the immediate instinct to try to get a closer look. And, it seems, so did the mother and calf orca whales to whom the fins belonged.
Luckily for Miller, orcas likely don't pose a threat to swimmers and boaters -- there has never been a fatal attack on a human by a wild orca (though that is not the same for orcas in captivity).
