A baby kangaroo who recently lost his mother is now in good hands - and a good shirt.

Cuejo, as he's been named, was brought to a Western Australia Police station this week after being found inside his mother's pouch after she was struck and killed by a car. That's where he met Constable Scott Mason, the man who would fill in for his parent.

Clearly, they hit it off immediately.

Fortunately for the little joey, Mason knows a thing or two about raising animals, chief among them being how to keep babies like him feeling cozy and safe. But without a natural pouch of his own for Cuejo to nestle in, Mason's had to improvise.

That's where his shirts come in.

It's only been a few days now since he was rescued, but Cuejo appears to be fitting in quite nicely with his new digs - and Mason couldn't seem prouder.

We wish them all the best!
