Meredith Turner Chapman

I have had a special connection to animals all of my life. As a child, I nurtured and took care of injured wildlife and walked neighborhood dogs. When I was 8, I had my own animal show that I would tape record in the downstairs bathroom because the acoustics were excellent. I sang the theme song and did all the interviews with myself as different animal experts. I wanted to be a dog trainer at nine years old, and at the age of fourteen, I was ready to study to be a vet in college. For various reasons, that was not the path I pursued; however, all along the way, I have been a devoted friend to animals. I was a high school and college writing teacher for many years and currently I very happily work at The Potter League for Animals on Aquidneck Island in Rhode Island. Childhood dreams do come true.
