Leilani Münter

Leilani Münter is a biology graduate turned professional race car driver and environmental activist. Discovery's Planet Green named Leilani the #1 Eco Athlete in the world. She is a recipient of ELLE Magazine's 2012 Genius Award and Sports Illustrated named her one of the top ten female race car drivers in the world. Since 2007, Leilani has been adopting an acre of rainforest for every race she runs. She has made several trips to Capitol Hill to speak with members of Congress on behalf of clean energy legislation. Leilani has been to Taiji, Japan three times to document the dolphin slaughter depicted in the Academy Award winning documentary film "The Cove." Off track, Leilani drives a 100% electric Tesla Model S and with the solar panels on her house, she is driving on sunshine, she also drives a specially equipped Model S in the upcoming Oceanic Preservation Society film "Racing Extinction”, a documentary that exposes species extinction using imagery that will change the way we see the world. Leilani sits on the Board of Advisers of The Solutions Project, a group dedicated to accelerating the transition to 100% clean, renewable energy. Her motto is "Never underestimate a vegan hippie chick with a race car."
