Dale Peterson is the author of WHERE HAVE ALL THE ANIMALS GONE?: My Travels with Karl Ammann (Bauhan Publishing). He is also Jane Goodall’s biographer (JANE GOODALL: The Woman Who Redefined Man) and has collaborated with her on three other books. His books have received numerous distinctions; two were named New York Times Notable Book of the Year (in 1993 and 2006). As a Member of the Board and now the Chairman of PEN New England, Dale has been instrumental in establishing PEN NE’s Henry David Thoreau Prize for Literary Excellence in Nature Writing. A recent Fellow at the Radcliffe Institute for Advanced Study at Harvard University, he currently lectures in the English Department of Tufts University.
