Andrew Lawler

Andrew Lawler is a freelance writer who has written more than a thousand articles for a dozen different magazines on topics ranging from asteroids to zebra fish. Lately he has been focusing on that most common of birds, and the most denigrated--the chicken. Along with a cover story in Smithsonian and articles in Science Magazine on the bird, he has written a piece in the November/December 2014 issue of Audubon about the wild chickens of rural Georgia. His book, Why Did the Chicken Cross the World: The Epic Saga of the Bird that Powers Civilization, will be published in December by Simon and Schuster. He is a contributing writer for Science, the world's largest scientific weekly, and a contributing editor for Archaeology Magazine. For more, see www.andrewlawler.com
