I just learned of a wonderful program in Melbourne, Australia, run by The Lost Dogs Home, that helped 5,000 shelter dogs get rescued and adopted. It focuses on the ways in which dogs can actually rescue people from long days at a desk by getting them outside to exercise.

You can watch a video of this program here. What I love about it is how simple it is, and how people came to realize that by rescuing dogs in need, the dogs also rescued them. It's a win-win for both the dogs and the humans. I hope more shelters will consider adopting this program. Often, challenging situations can be overcome with simple solutions.
