A man and his three-legged Labrador retriever are now recovering after being rescued from the man's capsized tow boat in Matagorda Bay, off the Texas gulf coast, on Sunday. An employee from the towboat operator's company contacted the U.S. Coast Guard after the boat flipped in the afternoon's dramatic weather conditions -- 20 mile per hour winds and four-foot waves that left the man scared for his own life and the life of his dog.

The Coast Guard response team later released a video of their rescue, which shows the man sitting atop the boat with his dog in his lap while they wait. According to one responder, the man helped the Lab onto the Coast Guard vessel safely before jumping aboard himself.
