Bride Throws 'Cat' Instead Of Flowers To See Who Will Be Next To Adopt One
"It was very āmeā since everyone knows Iām obsessed with cats."
As Karen Marmo was preparing to get married, she decided she wasnāt a huge fan of a lot of the standard wedding traditions, including tossing the bouquet for all the unmarried women to try and catch. She wanted to mix it up a bit and do something that everyone could participate in, and thatās when she had the best idea.
Marmo has always been a huge cat lover, and has two of her own at home, Catbug and Luna. Since they couldnāt be at the wedding, she decided a fun way to pay tribute to them would be to toss her guests a plush cat to try and catch instead of a bouquet ā to see who would be the next person to adopt a cat!

āI thought itād be a fun way to include everyone regardless of gender or marital status, and it was very āmeā since everyone knows Iām obsessed with cats,ā Marmo told The Dodo.
Everyone seemed excited about the idea, so Marmo bought a Pusheen toy for the occasion and began to plan out the unique game.

On the day of the wedding, as the celebration carried on, Marmo prepared to toss the plush cat into the waiting crowd ā¦

⦠and even though it didnāt quite go as planned, Marmo still considered it a success.

āThe person who caught it was my friend, Emma,ā Marmo said. āShe didnāt mean to catch it since sheās allergic. Guests fumbled the stuffed animal and it landed on her when she was shielding her face. I donated to my local shelter to make up for it.ā

Regardless, everyone loved the adorable twist on an old tradition, and hopefully some of Marmoās guests filed the idea away for their own weddings in the future!
