Little Girl Sneaks Her Two Best Friends Into School With Her
"They tell teachers to be prepared for anything, but I was not ready to open a book bag this morning and find two kittens."
There just never seems to be a cute kitten around when you really need one, ya know?
Well, one enterprising young cat lover evidently found a way around that age old dilemma. Rather than suffer through the tedium of first grade in a sad, feline-less state of being, this little girl figured she'd just go ahead and bring two of her fluffy pets along with her to school, so she could enjoy their company between tasks. (This child's problem-solving skills really are quite something.)
Unfortunately, the world just wasn't prepared for that kind of out-of-the-box thinking — or her teacher wasn't, anyway.
"They tell teachers to be prepared for anything, but I was not ready to open a book bag this morning and find two kittens," the girl's teacher, Anna Kate Hood, wrote on Facebook. "My student said she even put food in there and wanted to keep them at her desk to cuddle with after she finished her work. Gotta love first grade."
Hood wasn't immediately available for comment about how the saga of the backpack kittens ended, but we suspect she was secretly delighted that her workday included some cats, too.
While there's probably some rule against bringing kittens to school, the harsh reality of which the young student was no doubt later informed, people are still loving her attempt. That's probably why Hood's post is quickly going viral, with countless commenters weighing in: "I'm disappointed in myself that I never thought of this," one wrote.
Of course, a backpack is no place for kittens to hang out all day. As this little girl will soon discover, they'll need plenty rest in a cozier place to prepare for interrupting her schoolwork at home later on.
