Police Dog Is Overjoyed To Meet His Hero In Real Life

Those happy jumps 😍

Remember McGruff the Crime Dog — that fictional, trench coat-wearing police pup who told you to stay out of trouble when you were a kid?

Well, he's still around. And he just met his biggest fan.

Over the weekend, Greg Padden was passing through a metro station in New York City when he stumbled upon an adorable scene. There, a group of cops were assembled, hosting a meet-and-greet with the public. And sure enough, McGruff was on hand.

His presence was probably intended to appeal to children, yet no one was more excited to see McGruff than one of his colleagues β€” an actual K9 officer who was overjoyed to see the famed Crime Dog in real life.

Here's video Padden took of that sweet encounter:

Though it would appear that the K9 cop was on duty at that moment, none of his coworkers seemed to be bothered by that little break from decorum.

After all, it's not every day we get to meet our heroes.
