Sweetest Cat Raised Orphaned Kittens — But She Still Can't Find A Home
"Everyone wants little babies and she has been passed over just because she is fully grown."
When a beautiful white cat was found wandering the streets in Decatur, Texas, back in March, she was brought to the county shelter — and she was so pregnant she was about to burst.

Luckily, Animal Allies of Texas worked quickly to find the cat, now named Holly, a foster home where she could have her babies. Holly, who is just over 1 year old, gave birth to five kittens a couple of weeks later.

But that wasn't all. A few days after Holly gave birth, three orphaned kittens arrived at the county shelter. They were 2 days old and needed a mom's love and care to help them survive.
So rescuers brought the little cats to Holly, who immediately accepted the orphans as her own. For the following few weeks, Holly raised eight kittens.

But, sadly, one of Holly's own kittens was weak because of some birth defects, and he passed away.
"Holly took it hard and was visibly depressed for a while, which shows what a good, caring and dedicated mom she is and was," Janelle Weaver, of Animal Allies of Texas, told The Dodo.

And soon Holly had to say goodbye to her other kittens, but for a more positive reason: She successfully raised them to be healthy young cats and soon enough they were getting adopted.

"Everyone wants little babies and she has been passed over just because she is fully grown," Marjorie Royal, area coordinator of Animal Allies of Texas, told The Dodo.
This happens all too often to adult cats who need homes, and it's especially sad when the adult cat is the mother of kittens who end up finding homes before her. All of Holly's kittens found forever homes except for one, who is still waiting.

"From a throwaway cat to such an amazing mom and now just the best little cat anyone would ever want ... I would really like for her to meet her forever family," Royal said. "If I have ever seen a super little cat, this is it."
