Dog Driving Around In A Tiny Car Has Run-In With Police

"We couldn't believe our eyes."

The other day, while passing through Heidelberg West, Australia, two local police officers spotted something quite unusual.

It was a pup out for a joyride in a tiny car.

“We couldn’t believe our eyes,” Officer Lynda Giblett told the Herald Sun, adding: “Of course we had to stop and check it out.”

The furry little motorist was busted. His crime?

“Caught driving under the influence of cuteness,” the police department wrote.

Of course, the dog wasn’t actually driving himself. Close behind, controlling the car, was his owner. Turns out, there was a perfectly good explanation for why the dog was cruising around without a license.

Buddy, as the pup is named, is a senior dog who’s both deaf and blind. His owner got him the car so he could still enjoy the fresh air he used to get during their walks together.

Only now, Buddy does it in style.

Evidently, the officers decided to let little Buddy off with just a warning — perhaps, to never stop being so darn adorable.

“It absolutely made our day,” Giblett said.
