Random Cat Decides She Lives In Woman's Garage Now

"I sat down and she ran up onto my lap and was so loving."

Charity Hendey was sitting in her kitchen when she suddenly heard a faint meow — which was weird, because she doesn’t have any cats. She looked around outside but didn’t see a cat, so she let it go and moved on with her day. Later, she went into her garage, and discovered where the meow had been coming from.

Somehow, a random cat had broken into her garage, and actually seemed quite pleased to be there.

“I sat down and she ran up onto my lap and was so loving,” Hendey told The Dodo.

For the next two hours, Hendey hung out in the garage with the cat, who made it very clear that she intended to live there now. She loved playing in Hendey’s car …

… and in her boat, and seemed thrilled with the new space she’d somehow found herself stuck in.

After a while, the cat moved on — but two days later, Hendey found she had gotten locked in the garage again, and had a feeling that it had been fully intentional.

“She loves to explore,” Hendey said. “Playing in the boat and using the carpet on the floor as a scratching post. She explored my car since my window was down.”

Curious as to where this cat had come from, Hendey did a little digging and realized that the garage cat actually belongs to one of her neighbors. Apparently, the adventurous cat just really loves exploring the neighborhood, and seems to have a special appreciation for Hendey’s garage.

Hendey is thrilled to know that the cat has a home — but still expects to find her “stuck” in her garage all the time now.

“I’m sure she will be a frequent visitor since she knows she gets cuddles over here and she gets to explore more,” Hendey said.
